Anne Arundel Schools Cancel Activities On Jan. 29

Anne Arundel schools had scheduled early dismissal Jan. 29. Now changes to after-school events have been made because of weather.

UPDATED AT 10:55 A.M. ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — With snow expected on the roads later today, all school-sponsored after-school activities scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 29, including evening middle school and high school classes, are canceled, said Anne Arundel County Public Schools officials.

Employees are expected to work their regularly scheduled work day. For the status of activities sponsored by agencies other than Anne Arundel County Public Schools, including after-school day care, please check with that agency.

The two-hour early dismissal for Anne Arundel County Public Schools on Tuesday was preplanned and has nothing to do with the weather, officials said. Tuesday is the end of the school system's first semester, so the schedule calls for letting classes out two hours early Jan. 29 and 30.
