A 52-year-old man called Anne Arundel County Police just before 3 a.m. from a neighbor’s house in the 1000 block of Skidmore Drive in Annapolis to report he had been shot in the leg.

The victim said he and his girlfriend were home when someone knocked on the front door and forced their way into the residence. One of the suspects pointed a pistol at the victim, who grabbed the gun, and struggled with the suspect with the resident shot in the leg.

Despite his wound, the resident continued to struggle, wrestled the pistol away from the suspect and shot him before fleeing the house.

Officers found the injured suspect in the house. Both the victim and the suspect -- Delonta Alonzo Snowden, 37, of Glen Burnie -- were taken to University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment.

The girlfriend told police a second suspect left the residence after the victim fled. A silver 2009 Dodge van was seen leaving the area.

Authorities say Snowden is in stable condition and is being guarded pending charges.

The victim is also in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 410-222-6145.
