Arnold Man Guilty Of Annapolis Murder, Faces 55 Years in Prison

An Arnold man pleaded guilty Thursday to gunning down a Dunkirk man on an Annapolis street, prosecutors say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Arnold man arrested last fall for fatally shooting a Dunkirk man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and gun charges, authorities say. Demari Kareem Crowdy, 19, entered the plea Thursday in what officials called the "heinous and senseless" shooting death of Davon Jones, 25, of Dunkirk,.

On Sept. 3, 2016, Annapolis Police investigated reports of shots fired in the 800 block of Brooke Court, where they found Jones inside a vehicle. He was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Surveillance video from the area of the homicide showed a man, identified by a witness as Crowdy, standing with a group of people near the 800 block of Brooke Court before Jones was shot. Prosecutors say when Crowdy saw Jones driving on Brooke Court, he took a gun from another man, ran to the passenger side of the victim's vehicle, and fired multiple shots.
