Baltimore Vodka Company, Lytos, Set to Move Distillation to Maryland

Lytos, a vodka for consumers seeking an alternative spirit to drink, is sold in bars, restaurants, and liquor stores throughout Maryland

Lytos, a Baltimore-based company that specializes in making a patent pending, gluten-free premium vodka with added electrolytes, announces that it will be moving production, distillation, and packaging to Maryland after partnering with Lost Ark Distilling Company.

Lytos, pronounced 'light-toes', was previously manufactured in Hollywood, Florida, but will now be distilled through Lost Ark Distilling Company, an artisan distillery in Columbia, Maryland.
After debuting in November 2020, Lytos Vodka is now sold in over 300 bars, restaurants, and liquor stores in the greater Baltimore area as well as Ocean City, MD. Lytos is the first vodka ever with added electrolytes.

"I am extremely happy to be able to move production home to Maryland," said Billy Fanshawe, Founder of Lytos. "We are hoping sales double by the end of the year which has given us this great opportunity to come home and truly distill a unique Maryland vodka."
Recognizing that traditional spirits tend to be harsh, Lytos' mission is to bring consumers a spirit that is easy to drink and enjoyable, while providing a drink for those needing a distilled spirit alternative.

"Lytos is the first ever vodka with added electrolytes," Fanshawe said. "At the start of 2019 I broke ground with a mission to make a product that was enjoyable, fun, and easy to drink. Something to have for a day on the beach, out int the backyard or the golf course."
Lytos is distilled from domestically sourced-farm fresh corn, making it gluten-free. It is then infused with salt, potassium, and phosphorus, the compounds of electrolytes found in sophisticated sports drinks but without the added sugars.

Fanshawe grew up in Severna Park, is a Howard County resident and Towson University Graduate. Some of the first bars to purchase Lytos are in the Severna Park, Pasadena, Elkridge, Ellicott City and South Baltimore area where Fanshawe spent time cold-calling local establishments.
"I'm very excited to get the first batch of Maryland-distilled Lytos out the door," Fanshawe said. "This has been in the works for a very long time, and it's a great pleasure to see it all come together."
