Blue Angels Fly Over MD + Families Celebrate Memorial Day: Photos Of Week

MARYLAND — Happy Memorial Day! Patch thanks everybody who has served and dedicated their lives to protecting others. This week's top photos celebrate that patriotism.

Sandra Woodburn sent in this throwback to her granddaughter's first Memorial Day in Hampstead.

Several readers sent in their shots of the Blue Angels. The Navy squadron flew over Annapolis multiple times to honor Commissioning Week at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Frances Slater took this picture of the planes flying side-by-side. One is upside down.

Caryn Argeles is next up with this photo of the team flying in a tight formation.

RC Loftus submitted this shot of "Fat Albert," which is the support aircraft for the Blue Angels. Loftus snapped the picture off Ridgely Avenue near U.S. Route 50.

Alaina Alter shared this photo of the Blue Angels soaring above an American flag.
