Bonefish Grill Opens in Parole With Charity Event

Bonefish Grill will launch its new Annapolis location with a fundraising dinner for the from 6-8:30 p.m. Sept. 8.

"They called us," said Carrie Kiewitt, vice president of advancement for Historic Annapolis. "We are not paying a penny."

She said Bonefish, as part of its mission, encourages its restaurants to develop long-term partnerships with area charities that often start with a fundraiser for the opening of a new location.

“Being active participants in the Annapolis community is very important to us,” Mike Cash, managing partner of the new Bonefish Grill location, said in a press release. “By partnering with the Historic Annapolis Foundation, we’ve taken a crucial step toward building a foundation of goodwill and fostering local relationships.”

Guests attending the charity night will pay $35 per person to sample a range of culinary dishes served up at Bonefish Grill and two cocktails. Additional drink tickets will be available for $5. 

"It's going to be open seating, and I'm told the waitstaff will continuously bring out different menu items," Kiewitt said.

Bonefish calls itself the "fresh fish experts," and it specializes in market-fresh fish, wood-grilled specialties and uses a seasonal menu. It also offers a range of nonseafood entrees like Kobe beef burgers and ginger dumplings.

Historic Annapolis hopes to fill all 200 seats it has available for the dinner, which would raise $7,000—not including additional drink tickets sold. Kiewitt said the money will be used to help fund an after-school program called Annapolis Footprints at area elementary schools.

Actors dress up as famous characters from history and lead children on tours of where these people walked and lived in the city of Annapolis.

The restaurant is located at 1915 Towne Centre Blvd., suite 150, in the . Its doors will open to the public from 4-11:30 p.m. Sept. 10. The restaurant will be open seven days a week for dinner, and it will feature a brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.
