Annapolis Green has had a series of events over the last week or so to bring awareness about EVs to the public, including an EV Showcase last Saturday, also on City Dock. Some 20 cars -- and electric bikes, an electric motorcycle, an electric lawn tractor, and even an electric skateboard -- were there. Most important, many of the EVs were brought by their owners, who just love to discuss their experiences.
National Plug-in Day is a nationwide observance drawing global attention to the environmental, economic and other benefits of plug-in electric vehicles through simultaneous events staged around the country.

The events in Annapolis are being held in partnership with the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater DC -- group of electric vehicle owners, educators and enthusiasts dedicated to promoting the use of EVs as an environmental and energy benefit to society. EVA/DC was formed in 1980 as a chapter of the nationwide Electric Auto Association (EAA), and holds regular monthly meetings, public displays, car shows and tech sessions to exchange information.
So come on out tomorrow. See and touch the cars and talk to the owners. There is a prediction that gasoline will go up to $7 a gallon in the next few years. There's an electric car in my future and maybe in yours too.
