Burglar Groped Sleeping Woman: Annapolis Police
An Annapolis man is charged with a sex offense and burglary for allegedly touching a woman after he broke into her home, police said.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An accused burglar who groped a woman as she slept was found by Annapolis Police hiding under a bed, authorities say.
Karlos Joseph Phelps, 35, of the unit block of Gilmore Street in Annapolis, was charged with first-, third-, and fourth-degree burglary, as well as fourth-degree sex offense and trespassing, according to police.
The break-in was reported just before 3 a.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue. A woman told police that she was awakened by a male intruder who was touching her as she slept. Officers located Phelps underneath a bed in the home.

He is being held at the detention center on $75,000 bond.
