Burglary Suspect Hides iPad, Cell Phone in Pants: Police

Annapolis residents at home Tuesday heard someone in their house and followed the suspect, who said she thought a friend lived there.

Two Annapolis residents confronted a woman allegedly rifling through their dresser drawers Tuesday afternoon, flagging down a police officer for help when the suspect left the house.

The burglary was reported at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday in the1200 block of Tyler Avenue after two residents heard someone else in the house. The victims found Ashley Hill, 26, of Annapolis looking through drawers in a bedroom. Police say Hill claimed she had mistakenly entered the home, thinking a friend lived there.

Hill left the home with the residents following her and when an officer drove by, they flagged him down. Police reportedly found Hill had an Apple iPad and cell phone stolen from the home hidden in her pants.

Officers charged Hill with first-degree burglary and two counts of theft under $1,000. Hill is being held on $7,500 bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
