'Caddyshack' Yacht for Sale for $129K Docked in Anne Arundel County

Big Dog, the yacht Rodney Dangerfield's character drove through a marina in the movie "Caddyshack," is for sale and docked in Pasadena, MD.

PASADENA, MD — When uncouth, loudmouth millionaire Al Czervik, played by Rodney Dangerfield, wreaks havoc in a marina and sinks a boat in the comedy classic “Caddyshack,” the yacht he’s seen piloting is owned by a Pasadena man. The 60-foot Striker yacht used in the 1980 film could be yours for $129,000.

Leonard Digiulian has the yacht at his dock in Pasadena, where he turns the motor over regularly and has listed it for sale. He and his late brother, John, bought the boat more than 10 years ago; John died in 2014.

"The boat is sound outside of cosmetics. Yeah, it needs a coat of paint and it needs some interior work," Digiulian told the Capital-Gazette. "I could take it to Florida tomorrow if I wanted."

Big Dog, as the yacht was called, was built in 1979. It’s listed for sale on Yachtworld’s website, which calls the craft a legend that needs some TLC. You can find photos of the yacht, both inside and out, online.

Several mariners have claimed that their Striker yacht was the one used in the movie, but Richard Phillips, son of Striker’s founder, Herbert, knew from the number on the hull that the Digiulians have the real Big Dog. Richard Phillips drove the yacht in the movie and tells the Capital-Gazette that the boat is sound.
