How does a clock know what hour to strike?
Join our resident clockmaker, Stephen Sieracki, for a hands-on exploration of the mechanisms that allow clocks to count, track, and announce the passing hours.
Participants will have the opportunity to handle authentic clock parts and assist in assembling a working striking mechanism from a grandfather clock.
Perfect for the curious, the mechanically minded, and anyone who has ever wondered what goes on behind the clock face!
This is a drop-in style program. Visitors may join at any time during program hours and explore at their own pace through informal interaction and demonstrations. Advance registration recommended, but not required.
Cost: Free ($5 suggested donation)
