Family-Owned Chappy's Flooring Marks 30 Years Serving Anne Arundel County

Chappy's Flooring, a second-generation, family-owned flooring company based in Crownsville, is marking 30 years of installing and refinishing floors in homes across Anne Arundel County.

The business started in 1996 and is now run by the second generation of the family. Over three decades it has completed hundreds of projects in Annapolis, Severna Park, Arnold, Crofton, Edgewater, Davidsonville and neighboring towns. Its work includes installing hardwood, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), laminate, carpet and tile, plus sanding and refinishing older hardwood floors, a common job in Annapolis' historic homes.

Chappy's works as a mobile showroom. Instead of asking homeowners to visit a store, the team brings samples to the house so people can see how a floor looks in their own light and next to their own cabinets and furniture. Estimates are free.

"A lot of the floors we see around here are older oak that people assume needs replacing," the family said. "Often it can be sanded and refinished for a lot less. We'd rather tell someone that than sell them a floor they don't need."
