Community Can Show Support For The Library By Purchasing A Brick
Anne Arundel County residents can purchase a customizable brick for a $100 donation to the library foundation to support its construction.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Anne Arundel County residents interested in supporting the county library system are invited to purchase a customizable brick for a $100 donation to the Library Foundation. The bricks will be installed in the walkway of the new Annapolis Library slated to open March 2020.
The bricks will be inscribed with the donors' name, in honor of someone, with a favorite book or quote, or to commemorate a special date or occasion. The first ever brick campaign launched by the Anne Arundel County Public Library and Library Foundation will accept donations through Sept. 13.
“This is a wonderful way to become a permanent part of the new Annapolis Library,” said Library CEO Hampton “Skip” Auld in a statement. “Not only do you leave a legacy, but you support all 16 libraries across the county,” he added.

The 4x8-inch brick holds up to 20 letters/spaces per line with three lines of text available. Orders are being taken at www.aacpl.net/bricks. Information also is available at all 16 library locations. The brick program is part of the Library Foundation’s larger asset building campaign, Beyond Your Expectations, which has already raised $1.5 million in cash and pledges. The initiative is providing funds to create more welcoming spaces, improve technology, enhance programming and outreach and build an endowment for the future. All 16 county libraries will benefit from the campaign.
“We are pleased to offer this opportunity for all residents to get involved in the campaign,” said Library Foundation Executive Director Ann Glenn in a statement. “With our customers’ help, we can continue to make our libraries better,” she added.
