ANNAPOLIS, MD — Make plans to attend a Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival Nov. 2 in the Design District. The festival that celebrates the ancient Mexican tradition of honoring the dead will begin with a parade at 4:30 p.m. along McGuckian Street at Chinquapin Round Road in the Design District.

Everyone is invited to participate in the parade. When the parade wraps up, there will be a block party with food, music, arts and crafts, and face painting.

On The Day of the Dead, families take the time to remember their loved ones. Saturday’s event features the familiar symbol of the festival – Calacas and Calaveras (skeletons and skulls) - in joyous expressions.
