Driver Critically Injured In Route 50 Crash: Authorities
A driver was thrown from his vehicle, which caught fire, when it crashed into a retaining wall on Rowe Boulevard, officials say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A driver was thrown from his vehicle, which caught fire, when it crashed into a retaining wall on Rowe Boulevard near the Route 50 overpass early Friday, officials say. The one-vehicle accident happened about 2:30 a.m. when a SUV struck the wall, throwing the driver and only occupant out of the vehicle.
Anne Arundel County Fire officials say the SUV was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. No other occupants were located inside the vehicle after the fire was extinguished or after a search of the area.
A Maryland State Police helicopter flew the driver to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with critical, life-threatening injuries.
