Driver Killed In Cape St. Clair Rollover Crash: Police

Wet road conditions and speed may have contributed to a fatal Annapolis crash, police say. Passengers from Shady Side, Arnold were hurt.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis man was pinned under his pickup truck when it rolled over early Sunday morning and died from his injuries. Anne Arundel County Police say the fatal crash happened about 3:30 a.m. on College Parkway near Cape Saint Claire Road in the Cape St. Claire area.

Investigators say the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driven by David Anthony Nawrocki, 21, of the 1100 block of Riverview Drive, was northbound on College Parkway when it veered off the road, struck an embankment and rolled over onto its roof. Nawrocki, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pinned under the vehicle and had to be extricated by Fire Department personnel. His passengers were able to free themselves.

Nawrocki was declared dead at the scene and was taken to the medical examiner's office in Baltimore for autopsy. The passengers were taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor or no injuries.
