Shooting Threat At Cape St. Claire Elementary School Reported

A student told a teacher that a peer had threatened to shoot. Elementary school officials and police responded, finding no real threat.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An elementary school student is alleged to have threatened to shoot a fellow student on Tuesday, according to reports. Bob Mosier, the spokesperson for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, made the announcement.

The student told a teacher Wednesday of the alleged threat, Mosier said.

A letter sent to parents said police were immediately involved in the potential threat, according to The Capital Gazette.

There is "no reason to believe that any weapon was ever in our school building," Lancaster said, according to the Capital.

“We take every report of this nature very, very seriously,” Lancaster said, and parents are asked to discuss the importance of talking about potential threats with their kids.
