Fatal Bicycle Crash Victim Identified By Annapolis Police

Police identified the bicyclist who died in a hit-and-run crash this week. The Annapolis man was 74 years old.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — City police on Thursday released the name of the bicyclist who died this week after a hit-and-run crash in Annapolis.

Officers identified the victim as 74-year-old Zarko Peruza of Annapolis.

Authorities said they heard about the collision in the unit block of Hilltop Lane near Merryman Road around 10:07 p.m. Tuesday.

The man died on the scene from his injuries, police said.

Officers said the striking vehicle did not stay on the scene. Authorities are still looking for the involved vehicle. Police did not give a description of that vehicle.

The wreck closed Hilltop Lane in both directions during the crash reconstruction, officers said.

Authorities are still investigating.
