Severn Parking Lot Murder Trial Results In Conviction

Daquan Pack of Glen Burnie was convicted of murder in the death Patrick Dixon following an argument in Severn in 2016.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie man who spent a month evading police was convicted Friday of killing another Glen Burnie man following an argument in a Severn parking lot. Prosecutors said Daquan Pack, 23, of Glen Burnie, was found guilty of first-degree murder and related handgun charges by an Anne Arundel County Circuit Court jury.

Daquan Darryl Pack, 23 of Glen Burnie was convicted for fatally shooting Patrick Maurice Dixon, 31, of Glen Burnie on April 1, 2016, on Meade Village Road in Severn. Anne Arundel County Police officers found Dixon lying in the 8100 block of Meade Village Road bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Several witnesses told police they saw the shooting, and identified Pack as the shooter. The witnesses said Pack and Dixon argued in the parking lot and shortly thereafter, Pack shot Dixon, and then fled the scene.

"Guns are not the answer to resolve disagreements. This unfortunate tragedy is the result of Daquan Pack's choice to use a gun he was not permitted to have to exert control in a situation in which he felt disrespected," said Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams in a statement. "I commend the jury for holding Mr. Pack accountable and providing justice for Mr. Dixon."

Pack faces up to life without parole in prison as a result of these convictions. Sentencing is scheduled for June 5.
