ANNAPOLIS, MD — Fello, a Maryland-based nonprofit supporting people with disabilities statewide, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to celebrate the upcoming opening of Fello at The Mall, a community resource with a physical location at the Annapolis Mall, designed to foster connection and inclusion.

The new space expands access to services, resources, and opportunities for local families in a highly visible, welcoming setting and will also serve as the new location for Fello’s Children, Youth & Their Families program, the nonprofit said in a news release.

Fello at The Mall will officially open to the public on Feb. 10.

“Cutting the ribbon on Fello at The Mall is an exciting step for us and a reflection of our commitment to the people we serve and our communities,” said Jonathon Rondeau, president and CEO of Fello, in a statement. “This space allows us to meet families where they already are, making it easier to connect with our team, resources, and support, and bringing our values of inclusion, accessibility, and belonging to life in a very tangible way.”

Fello at The Mall features a Community Hub, meeting room, offices for Fello employees and an accessible restroom with an adult changing station, catering to a wide range of needs.

“This brand-new space reflects Fello’s commitment to listening to the people they serve and responding with meaningful action,” said Carol Beatty, secretary of the Maryland Department of Disabilities. “We’re proud of the impact Fello has made across Maryland and look forward to expanded access to support and services for families here in Annapolis.”

Fello continues to build upon ongoing efforts to meet people where they are, providing easier access for people with disabilities while connecting them with nearby dining, fitness, entertainment, and community events.

“Our team provides a wide range of financial, educational, and direct support services tailored to children and families throughout every stage of life,” said Sara Pease, assistant director of children, youth and their families at Fello. “With Fello at The Mall, we are reducing barriers by bringing these life-changing resources directly into the communities and spaces where families already are.”
