Football Season Starts Up Saturday at Naval Academy

The Midshipmen will host Fordham in the first clash of 2016.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The U.S. Naval Academy will kick off the 2016 college football season at noon Saturday against Fordham University at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

It's the first of five home games for the Midshipmen; the other four games in Annapolis will include a Sept 10 clash against UConn, an Oct. 8 meeting with Houston, and games against Memphis on Oct. 22 and Tulsa on Nov. 12, according to the team's official schedule. All home games will be shown on the CBS Sports Network on cable TV.

On the road, the Midshipmen will play the Air Force Academy on Oct. 1 in Colorado Springs, Colo. They will play on national broadcast TV in two annual matchups - against Notre Dame on Nov. 5 in Jacksonville, Fla., and against Army on Dec. 10 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Both games will be carried by CBS.
