Boat Rental Business Opens 6 New Locations At MD, DC Marinas

Captains can borrow a boat at these six new locations across Maryland and Washington, D.C. Members pay monthly dues for unlimited access.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A boat rental business, called the Freedom Boat Club of Maryland and DC, is opening six locations this season in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Members get unlimited access to the boats after paying monthly dues and a one-time joining fee.

The new boating centers are located in:

  • Annapolis: The Marina at Nautilus Point
  • Annapolis: Podickory Point Yacht Club
  • Edgewater: Anchor Yacht Basin
  • Edgewater: Liberty Marina
  • North East: McDaniel Yacht Basin
  • Washington, D.C.: Washington Marina

These hubs add to the club's eight existing locations in the region. Those current facilities are in:

  • Annapolis: Fairwinds Marina
  • Annapolis: Annapolis Maryland Capital Yacht Club (AMCYC)
  • Baltimore: Harbor East Marina
  • Deale: Moving to Harbour Cove Marina. Previously at Shipwright Harbor Marina
  • Essex: Baltimore Boating Center
  • Kent Island: Castle Marina
  • Oxon Hill: National Harbor
  • Washington, D.C.: The Yards Marina

The sites started opening in mid-April. All 14 should be ready by mid-May.

The Freedom Boat Club of Maryland and DC will have about 90 vessels available this summer.

The business started in 1989 in Sarasota, Florida. It has since welcomed independently owned and operated franchises in 34 states, Canada and Europe.

Freedom Boat Club now has 47,000 members across more than 320 locations.

Prices vary between packages.
