Get to Know Annapolis Police at 'Coffee with a Cop'

Residents can meet Annapolis law enforcement officers and discuss community issues March 16 at a local coffee house.

On March 16, officers from the Annapolis Police Department and community members will gather in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee, according to the Annapolis Police Department.

All community members are invited to attend. The event begins at 8 a.m. Monday at 49 West Coffeehouse, 49 West St. Drop by between 8 and 10 a.m., during the event, to have a chat with the officers.

Annapolis Police Department says Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Annapolis’s neighborhoods.

“We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officer,” said Annapolis Police Chief Michael Pristoop. “These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships.”

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the country, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve, according to Annapolis Police Department.
