Glen Burnie Man Charged With Killing Mother: Police

A Glen Burnie man is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 80-year-old mother, police say.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Anne Arundel County Police say a Glen Burnie man who admitted killing his elderly mother in their home, has been charged with her murder.

Officers went to the home in the 200 block of Sandsbury Avenue in Glen Burnie just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday after an out-of-state relative told police they received a call from Roy Robinson, who told the family member that he had killed his mother.

At the home, officers found an adult female victim identified as Elizabeth Ligon Robinson, 80, dead from apparent sharp-force trauma to her upper body.

The victim's son, Roy Robinson, 57, was also in the home and reportedly told police officers that he had killed his mother. Roy Robinson had minor wounds to his upper body that appeared to be self-inflicted, police say. He was taken to an area hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.

Roy Robinson is being charged with the first-degree murder of Elizabeth Robinson.
