Good turnout, lots of fun characterizes this year’s Fourth of July

Admiral Heights Fourth of July bike parade participants are estimated to be between 150 and 200 .

Estimates of the attendance at the Admiral Heights Fourth of July bike parade ranged from about 150 to more than 200. Whatever the actual number, everyone agreed that there were a lot of people.

Everyone credited the great sense of community for the awesome turnout! It was a beautiful morning with just enough cloud cover to keep the heat at bay. Families were everywhere, strolling and keeping a watchful eye on their young ones who were either in strollers and wagons or on tricycles and bicycles.

Outfits and decorations were red, white and blue. Flags lined the sidewalks. Red, white and blue cupcakes sat on blue tablecloths trimmed with red, white and blue bunting.

In addition to biking and eating, the youngsters met representatives from the Annapolis Fire Department and the Annapolis Police Department. A police car and an ambulance were there, along with Engine 38 and truck 39 from the Taylor Avenue Fire Station. A few children got everyone’s attention when they turned on the sirens on the police car.

Thanks go to John Leupold, Jim Burdick, and Mandy and Grant Garcia for making the event a success.
