Maryland.gov has been awarded a 2016 Gold Horizon Interactive Award in the Government website category.

Maryland.gov has been awarded a 2016 Gold Horizon Interactive Award in the Government website category. Winners of the Horizon Award are recognized world-wide as the top designers and developers of websites, mobile apps, videos and more. The award comes on the heels of seven other awards honoring maryland.gov in 2016.
In its 15th year, the Horizon Interactive Awards competition garnered over 1200 entries from around the world including 40 out of 50 US States and 20 countries including: Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Germany, Greenland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, Ukraine and Uruguay.
"From day one, our administration has been committed to providing Marylanders with the highest level of customer service across every single platform, from in-person to online interactions," said Governor Hogan. "We strive to make Maryland.gov the most efficient and user-friendly portal for more than 84 million customers to access vital information and services. This award brings our total to seven in 2016 and 30 overall, and is more great recognition of our tireless efforts."

Maryland.gov provides a gateway to agency websites and hundreds of time-saving digital government solutions, including car registration renewals, vehicle emissions, safety inspections, and business regulations. Agencies and visitors have access to payment processing gateways, a state agency directory for more than 300 agencies, help desk, and interactive events and public meetings calendar. The citizen-centric design provides easy access to a Google site search with custom filters based on content type — pages, services, social media, publications, and even maps. Moreover, this engaging design allows for a lean mobile experience, with seamless expandable content for the more than 42 million mobile visitors. Maryland.gov is a product of the Maryland Department of Information Technology’s Web Systems team and vendor participation.
