ANNAPOLIS, MD — A recent hatchet attack hospitalized a man in Annapolis, city police said Wednesday. The press release did not mention what condition the victim is in.
Officers said they arrested the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Walter Estrada-Villalta of Annapolis.
Authorities said Estrada-Villalta faces charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Estrada-Villalta is being held without bond, police said.
Officers said they heard a report of an assault in the 2000 block of West Street around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities said they found the victim suffering from deep cuts on the back of his head.
The Annapolis Police Department said the victim got into a physical confrontation with the suspect, who grabbed a hatchet and hit the victim twice in the head.
