Heroin, Cocaine Found on West Marine Armed Robber: Police
Annapolis Police pulled over two men suspected of robbing the West Marine store, and found heroin and crack cocaine, too.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two Lanham men are being held without bond on armed robbery charges after they reportedly stole seven jackets from the West Marine store at 113 Hillsmere Drive. Annapolis Police say the theft happened about 3:20 p.m.; when police stopped the suspects' car they not only found the stolen merchandise, but heroin and crack cocaine, too.
Officers say Terry Richards, 45, of Lanham entered the nautical store, grabbed seven jackets worth $2,515, and left without paying for them. When an employee challenged Richards outside the store, he reportedly lifted his shirt to show a handgun tucked in his waistband, and threatened to shoot the employee, police say.
Richards got in a vehicle driven by Thomas Holmes, 49, of Lanham, they left the area traveling east down Bay Ridge Road. Officers located the vehicle and the two men inside were identified as the suspects in the robbery.

After officers stopped the vehicle, they found the stolen jackets inside, but the handgun was not located. A small amount of suspected heroin was discovered in Holmes’ possession and a small amount of crack cocaine was located inside the vehicle.
Richards was charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, and five other charges. Holmes was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, accessory after the fact, two CDS possession charges, and five related charges. They are both being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
