Homes Evacuated After Possible Homemade Bomb Found

Anne Arundel County Police say the device found by a Pasadena homeowner was some inert firecrackers in a toilet paper roll.

Several Pasadena houses were evacuated as a precaution Monday night when a possible homemade bomb was reported to authorities.

Anne Arundel County Police found the reported explosive device about 7:20 p.m. in a yard on Silver Circle in Pasadena.

The homeowner showed officers a device that was found behind the shed in the backyard. As a precaution, the area was secured and some nearby homes were evacuated.

The fire department responded and determined that the device was safe, identifying it as several inert firecrackers placed in a toilet paper roll.

All residents were allowed to return to their homes. At this time the origin of the device has not been determined.
