Hot-Iron Torture Of Annapolis Hotel Guest Brings Prison Sentence
A Baltimore man who burned a Crown Plaza Annapolis Hotel guest with a clothes iron until he shared ATM information has been sentenced.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Baltimore man convicted of burning a Crown Plaza Annapolis Hotel guest with a clothes iron until he shared his ATM information has been sentenced to 18 years in prison with five years of supervised probation upon release for armed robbery, authorities say. Davin Allen, 30, of Baltimore, was found guilty April 7 of armed robbery, reckless endangerment, and false imprisonment. His accomplice, Jameria Bridges, 20, of Annapolis, pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Anne Arundel County court.
The attack and robbery happened on July 23, 2016, at the hotel, 173 Jennifer Road, where the victim was visiting from Canada while he attended the wedding of a friend. Authorities say the visitor invited Allen and Jameria Bridges, 20, of Annapolis — whom he believed were also wedding guests — to his room. Once they were inside the man's hotel room, Allen and Bridges held the victim hostage while they assaulted and robbed him, police say.

"Davin Allen is a violent offender who imposed unimaginable pain and suffering upon the victim of this senseless torture," said Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams in a statement. "This sort of vicious behavior cannot go unpunished. I am thankful to Judge (Ronald) Silkworth for recognizing the ongoing threat Mr. Allen poses to our community, and providing justice to the victim."
Prosecutors said Allen tied the victim's hands behind his back with a neck tie and viciously beat him as Bridges searched the room for valuables. Allen then used a hot clothes iron to burn the victim across his back, ears, face, and inner thighs while demanding the PIN number to his credit card.

Under threat of more violence, Allen led the victim to an ATM machine and forced him to withdraw $400, the maximum daily limit of his card. When the victim pleaded for help from the hotel clerk, Allen and Bridges fled.
Police obtained information that the victim's credit card was being used about a mile away from the hotel at a CVS Pharmacy, 2601 Riva Road, WBAL reported. Officers went to the pharmacy and detained Allen and Bridges, who had the victim's credit card, cash, and car keys.
Bridges faces 10 years in prison at her sentencing.
