How To Stay Off Naughty List At Ocean City, DC SantaCons

OCEAN CITY, MD — Cities all over America -- including Ocean City, MD, and Washington, D.C. -- are celebrating SantaCon, an annual bar crawl where participants drink while wearing Santa costumes.

The Washington, D.C., event, called Santarchy 2015, is set to begin at 1 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, according to its website. But a starting location hasn’t been posted; check back for an update.

The folks at Ocean City SantaCon say their event kicks off at 3 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 12. Track the merriment on its Facebook page.

Here are some tips on how to stay off the naughty list if you’re participating in SantaCon this year.

For every alcoholic beverage you drink, have a glass of water.

And if you feel you’re getting too intoxicated, try drinking just water for a few stops.

Make sure your friends are safe.

Every person in a Santa costume might not be as innocent as the real Kris Kringle.

Don’t fight anyone.

If you feel the need to throw a punch, try hugging yourself instead.

Know how you’re getting home.

Rent a hotel room or buy a train ticket before you head out.

Have fun.
