Hundreds Of Potential Jurors For Ramos Trial In Annapolis

Approximately 300 potential jurors are at a Maryland courthouse undergoing a lengthy selection process.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Hundreds of potential jurors are at a Maryland courthouse today, Friday, Sept. 27, to be considered for the trial involving Jarrod Ramos who has been charged with five counts of first-degree murder involving the mass shooting at the Capital Gazette that killed five people last year.

The judge is using a questionnaire approach at the start of what is believed to be a lengthy process to pick the jury in the case against Ramos, who has pleaded not guilty and not criminally responsible.

Legal experts say the questionnaire will aid the process by helping to find people early on who can't serve on the jury due to biases in a highly publicized case in a small community, reported WBOC. Judge Laura Ripken has scheduled three days of jury selection beginning Oct. 30.
