ICYMI: Annapolis New Year's Eve Includes Kids' Activities, Bands, Two Rounds of Fireworks

There will be face painting, magic, live performances, fireworks and more at the New Year's Eve celebration. Find the full schedule here.

The City of Annapolis is busy getting ready for tonight’s New Year’s Eve Celebration centered at City Dock.

The family-friendly event lasts all day and includes, live performances, a limbo contest, fireworks and more. Best of all, the performances are completely free, and no badges or buttons will be required for any of the festivities.

Here’s the lineup of events and performances for the Annapolis New Year’s Eve celebration:

2:45 p.m.

  • Annapolis Drum and Bugle Corps “Pied Piper
  • Join Squire Frederick at the Market House

Big Tent

3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Chesapeake Children’s Museum
  • Reuse and repurpose: Make wearable and playable fun things from materials you use every day.
  • Facepainting

4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

  • The Magical Worlds of Jack Julius Performance

5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • Goombay “Caribbean Experience” featuring Orlando Phillips and Elizabeth Melvin. Move to the beat and join in the limbo contest

7:30 p.m.

  • The first round of fireworks will light up the night sky

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Scott Hymes, Deejay-dance to the great party songs of the last few decades

10 p.m.

  • Radio City Band — Dance the night away with live music from Annapolis’ best party band.

Midnight

  • Fireworks and Countdown to 2015

Parking will be available all day at one of Annapolis’s garages.

  • $20 all day — Noah Hillman Parking Garage, 150 Gorman Street
  • $15 all day — Gotts Court Parking Garage, 25 Northwest Street
  • $10 all day — Knighton Parking Garage, 1A Colonial Ave.
  • $10 all day — Park Place, 5 Park Place

Free Circulator trolleys will transport people to the festivities from the garages. No shuttle service will be offered to the Navy-Marine Corps Museum Stadium that day.

There will be no parking restrictions specifically related to New Year’s Eve, but if you park on the streets, be sure to follow all residential parking signs to avoid tickets, fines or towing. Also, the free two-hour parking is only for two hours.

The best viewing areas for the fireworks at City Dock will be from Susan Campbell Park and Main Street. Public places northeast of the Severn River and any of the street-end parks facing Spa Creek also make for great viewing spots.

The New Year’s Eve celebration is an alcohol-free event.
