Identities blurred for center’s Halloween spooks

Halloween songs played in the background as about 75 guests attended the Annapolis Senior Activity Center's Halloween party.

“The Purple People Eater.” “The Addams Family” theme song. “I Want Candy.” “Ding-Dong! The Witch is Dead.”

Halloween songs played in the background at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center on Oct. 31 as costumed guests colored pictures, decorated pumpkins, trick or treated, ate cupcakes, drank punch, and won prizes. About 75 people, including more than 25 children and approximately 50 seniors, attended the party.

With just a few hints, some guests were easily recognizable. The red bowties and black ears were giveaways for the two Mickey Mouses. Goggled eyes, yellow shirts, blue jeans with suspenders, and signs proclaimed the two Minions. The Easter bunny, the Walking Dead, and the two lions were also relatively easy to spot.

However, quite a few guests subscribed to the “whatever you want me to be” philosophy. One youngster was equally enamored of Thor and Flash Gordon. One senior was called a mummy, ghost, Statue of Liberty, and a Greek goddess. Another person was called a pirate, cowboy and one of the three Mouseketeers.

Whatever their name tag, they dug into the cupcakes and candy. It was truly a treat for the young and old alike.
