iPhone, iPods Stolen from Unlocked Cars: Annapolis Police Calls
Also, the Annapolis Police Department will hold a DUI checkpoint May 5 with extra patrols on the streets Tuesday.

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 278 calls for service and arrested 12 people.

Theft from Vehicle – 400 block of Halsey Rd – 04/30 at 8pm to 05/01 at 7:35am: A resident reported finding a purse and bag in the street outside her home. Officers contacted the owner of the property and found it had been stolen out of an unlocked vehicle. A white Apple iPod Touch was also stolen from vehicle and not recovered.
Attempted Burglary – 1300 block of Corey La – 04/28 at 9pm: The resident reported he received an alarm for his home and when he returned he found a rear door was damaged. The home was not entered.

Attempted Theft from Vehicle – 700 block of Banneker La – 05/01 at 1:15am: A resident saw two men near a parked vehicle and one of the men tried the vehicle’s door handle. The resident approached the men, who fled the area on foot. The resident waited to report the incident to the police until the afternoon of the same day.
Theft from Vehicle – 200 block of Hilltop La – 04/30 at 10:30pm to 05/01 at 7:30am: A black Apple iPhone 4S in a pink case and a silver Apple iPod Nano in a pink case were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Theft of Vehicle – Unit block of Rose Ct – 04/19 at 8pm to 04/20 at 6am: A white 2003 Mazda 6, MD reg. 5BA3957, was stolen from in front of a home. The owner waited over a week to report the theft to the police.
Cinco de Mayo DUI Checkpoint
The Annapolis Police Department will be conducting a DUI Checkpoint in Annapolis on May 5. The checkpoint will be located on West Street near Amos Garrett Boulevard. The hours of the checkpoint will be between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. Police urge residents to celebrate Cinco de Mayo responsibly, do not drink and drive. Additional officers will be patrolling to look for impaired drivers throughout the city.
