ANNAPOLIS, MD — A 16-year-old was charged as an adult after he allegedly brought a loaded handgun to Annapolis High School Wednesday. Anne Arundel County Police say a school administrator spotted Marquis Cameron Weems, a 10th-grade student, getting on a bus at dismissal and thought he might have had a gun.
The incident was reported about 2:20 p.m. to the school resource officer at Annapolis High School, 2700 Riva Road. Once the officer located Weems, he removed him from the bus, and recovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun from the rear seat of the bus where the teen was sitting.
Weems was placed under arrest without incident. Police say he was taken to Southern District, where he was charged as a juvenile with possession of a handgun.
