Looking back, looking ahead

It's winter – time to bask in the success of fall fundraisers before making plans for the spring ones.

It’s winter – time to bask in the success of fall fundraisers before making plans for the spring ones.

Annapolis Senior Activity Center volunteers outdid themselves in the fall. From October through December 2014, sale of flea market items and table rentals garnered more than $2,000 for the center. During the same time period, jewelry brought in more than $2,350 in sales – another record for jewelry sales at the center.

Bake sale revenues remained steady, bringing in more than $100 each on the first day of both the flea market and jewelry sales.

But the fundraising story doesn’t end there. This year some volunteers came up with some new ideas that brought in even more money. One senior raffled off a basket that brought in more than $370. Another senior suggested that Annapolis Senior Activity Center members might want to make a tax free holiday donation to their center. The members’ response was overwhelming with more than $2,000 given to the Annapolis center.

Thanks go to all the center volunteers, center members and members of the community, donors and staff, who helped make the fall fundraising a success. Their participation and support was crucial to the success of the fundraisers.
