A man faces charges after he allegedly barricaded himself in an Annapolis residence, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police had to force their way into an Annapolis residence Wednesday night after a man barricaded himself inside. Demond Lavell Dorsey, 43, of the 400 block of Master Derby Court, is charged with assault in the incident, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Two people called police about 8 p.m. Wednesday to report that an armed Dorsey had assaulted them, but they were not hurt. Officers found Dorsey had barricaded himself alone inside the residence. After repeated attempts to have him leave the home, police forced their way into the house about 10:30 p.m.

Dorsey was taken into custody. A loaded semi-automatic pistol and a 12-gauge shotgun were recovered from the residence.
