Anne Arundel Co. Records 2 Drownings Involving Young Children: Report

First responders in Anne Arundel County were called to two incidents over the weekend that involved two young children who drowned.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — First responders were called to two separate incidents over the weekend that involved child drownings, according to reports.

The first of the two cases involved a two-year-old child who drowned Saturday at a Brooklyn Park home.

The child was pronounced dead at a hospital, a spokesperson with the Anne Arundel County Police Department told The Banner. The incident was reported at the 400 block of Townsend Avenue.

A second incident took place Sunday in Pasadena, on the 800 block of 223rd Street.

Officials with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department told local station WMAR2 News that a young child was found unresponsive in a private swimming pool.
