Man Charged in Annapolis Armed Robbery, 2nd Suspect Escapes

An Annapolis man is charged with holding up a man at knifepoint on East College Parkway, police say.

Annapolis, MD — An Annapolis man is charged with armed robbery after allegedly threatening a man with a knife during a holdup on a street.

The robbery was reported about 9 p.m. Wednesday near 804 E. College Parkway.

Anne Arundel County Police say Sean Antonio Richardson, 27, of the 1300 block Yorktown Road in Annapolis, approached the victim as he was walking on East College Parkway. Richardson reportedly showed a knife and told the man to empty his pockets, which he did.

Authorities say Richardson then fled toward Cape St. Claire. A second suspect appeared to be acting as a lookout nearby.

Police officers, including Air and K-9 units, searched the area. Richardson was located by a patrol officer at the Cape St. Claire Shopping Center and arrested. A knife was found in his possession, police say.

The second suspect has not been located.

Richardson is charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault.

Police say the second suspect is a black man with a shaved head who was wearing a white tank top.
