Man Facing Over 60 Charges For Manufacturing, Possessing Explosives: Fire Officials

An Annapolis man was charged with dozens of charges for the manufacturing and possession of destructive devices, officials announced.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Ralston Lee Scott Wygal, a 37-year-old man from Annapolis, is facing over 60 felony charges for manufacturing and possessing destructive devices, officials said.

A release issued by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said Wygal was arrested Tuesday at the 1200 block of Blackwalnut Lane.

  • 32 felony counts of manufacturing a destructive device
  • 32 felony counts of possession of a destructive device

A search and seizure warrant executed by federal and state officials returned "a significant number of suspected explosive devices" and "materials consistent with the construction of such devices" in the Annapolis home.

In fact, many of the items "varied in size and composition" and included suppressors and ammunition, according to investigators.

The charges stem from an investigation into illegal deer hunting incidents that occurred "both at night and from the roadway."
