Man Set Fire To Home Of Sleeping Son, Ex: Fire Officials
Officials have determined that the ex-boyfriend of a Brooklyn resident set fire to her home while she and the couple's son were sleeping.
BROOKLYN, MD — Officials have determined that the ex-boyfriend of a 27-year-old Brooklyn resident and father of the couple's four-year-old son deliberately set a fire in the woman's home. The fire was detected July 5 at 1:25 a.m. at the two-story middle-of-the-row home at 442 Fifth Ave. The original damage estimate was $130,000. Both the mom and her son were taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center in stable condition from smoke inhalation.
According to the Anne Arundel County fire department, the fire originated in the basement of the home. By using witness statements, video surveillance footage, examining fire effects and patterns, after further investigation, fire officials determined that Antonio Jameson Wright set the fire.
"The act of intentionally setting fire to the dwelling endangered the lives of the sleeping occupants and endangered the lives of first arriving firefighters," the department report stated.
