Marine FedEx Driver Properly Folds Fallen Flag On Route
A FedEx driver who served as a Marine knew just what to do when he saw winds had knocked down an American flag on his route in Anne Arundel.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A FedEx driver who served as a Marine knew just what to do when he saw winds had knocked down an American flag on his route in Anne Arundel County. Mike King has won praise on social media for jumping out of his truck and properly folding the flag after its pole was toppled in Glen Burnie.
U.S. flag code says the flag should never touch the ground. Homeowner Gail Cook saw via security camera that King, a veteran whom she contacted later, told her he was "just doing what was right," WBAL reports.
Initially the driver tried to right the flagpole until he realized it was broken, then King folded both a Baltimore Ravens flag and an American flag drooping because of the damaged pole, and put them in a box on the porch.

"He not only picked up the flag but folded it properly and put it away safely on our porch," Cook wrote on Facebook. "Thanks FedEx!!! I hope he gets the recognition he deserves, I can't thank him enough!"

Of Cook's praise, King wrote: "It's the Marine way, would have done better justice for Lady glory if the wind wasn't gusting at 50 lol. I couldn't just drive by and do nothing."
"We are proud of the many contributions our team members and vendors make to our communities every day," FedEx said on Facebook.
