Maryland Public Television Station Changes Frequencies

ANNAPOLIS, MD — If your Maryland Public Television station isn't working, that's because you need to rescan your channels. WMPT Channel 22 in Annapolis went off the air Thursday, Aug. 1, at 10 p.m. and was back up at 12:01 a.m. Aug. 2 in order to be in compliance with the Federal Communications Commission's order that local broadcasters change the frequencies of their channels.

Only viewers who use an antennae to watch free over-the-air broadcasts are affected and must perform a rescan on the television or converter box. Cable and satellite customers do not need to do anything. For those who need to rescan, simply select scan or autotune from a television or converter box control menu.
