Maryland's 200 Best Places To Live For 2019 Ranked: New Report

BALTIMORE, MD — According to Niche.com, if you want to live among the best places in Maryland, then you should consider moving to Montgomery County if you don't reside there already. Eight of the top 10 spots were reserved for Montgomery County communities, with Ellicott City and Columbia nabbing the other two top spots.

For 2019, Niche.com data crunchers, say they have determined North Potomac "is our #1 best place to live in Maryland."

"Living in North Potomac offers residents a suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In North Potomac there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many families live in North Potomac and residents tend to lean liberal. The public schools in North Potomac are highly rated," Niche.com says.

Niche.com says its "ranking provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall livability of an area. This grade takes into account several key factors of a location, including the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities in an attempt to measure the overall quality of an area. Learn where our data comes from."

The top four criteria specifically are: cost of living, higher education rate, housing grade, and public schools grade.

Niche.com ranks more than 200 places in its new report and you'll notice when you read the full rankings below that many Baltimore neighborhoods or sections of the city received their own grade too.
