Naval Academy Conducting Security Drill Tuesday
The Naval Academy was conducting an annual drill that may affect access to the campus and more.
The Naval Academy issued a reminder Tuesday that it would be conducting a drill which could impact traffic and security.
At 10:30 a.m. the gates were closed as part of the drill, officials reported. By 11 a.m., they had reopened.
"This is part of an annual Navy-wide exercise and not in response to any specific threat," according to the Naval Academy.
Officials said that visitors could encounter more traffic and delays around entrances.
Bag checks and vehicle inspections may occur, according to the notice.
Area residents may also see and hear increased Navy security activity associated with the exercise, officials reported.
