Anne Arundel New Year's Eve Guide: 2 Fireworks, Masquerade Ball
There are many ways to ring in the New Year for families and adults only, whether it's with a cruise along the river, fireworks or dancing.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Whether you plan to celebrate the New Year out on the town or at home with your closest friends and family, hopefully 2020 will be a fantastic year for you. Below are some fun options for Anne Arundel County residents to consider when planning their festivities whether they're adults-only or family-friendly. Let us know of any other New Year's Eve activities going on in the county, too.
New Year's Eve Bash: Ring in the New Year with a roaring '20s theme at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel and support the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. Beginning at 8:30 p.m., there will be a full open bar, hors d'oeuvres, a DJ and dancing, followed by a perfect view of the city's fireworks show completed with a champagne toast. There also will be some adoptable dogs at the event hoping to find their furever homes.
End of the Decade New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball: Party anonymously behind festive masks at a masquerade ball. The event begins at 9 p.m. at Pho-One 0, 2651 Annapolis Road #B in Hanover. There will be food, drinks and dancing all night.

New Year's Annapolis: This family-friendly event based on the "first night" concept offers a special outing for all ages. Kids can enjoy face painting, moon bounces, kids' rock bands and more at Weems Whelan Fields behind Maryland Hall starting at 3:30 p.m. The kids can enjoy their own fireworks show at 5:30 p.m. The second round of festivities will feature live music and dancing at City Dock followed by midnight fireworks.
Fireworks Cruise: The Catherine Marie will set sail New Year's Eve and offer a bird's eye view of the planned fireworks. There will be a DJ, dancing, mini desserts and a cash bar.

Early New Year's Eve: The Bates Athletic Complex behind the Michael E. Busch Center for the Arts at Maryland Hall will be hopping starting at 3:30 p.m. New Year's Eve
Maryland State Park First Day Hike: Ring in the New Year with a First Day Hike at one of the state parks. There are 36 hikes planned at 32 parks.
New Year's Eve Celebration and Fireworks: Usher in 2020 with a fireworks display at Northside Park in Ocean City. The fireworks will begin at midnight and there will be live entertainment, hot chocolate and the opportunity to ride through the Winterfest of Lights, which will have extended hours through Midnight.
Charm City Countdown into 2020: Don your finest gown and a Venetian mask or dress up as a forest creature for the Enchanted Forest Moonlight Masquerade: A Renaissance Fantasy Ball at the BWI Hilton in Linthicum Heights. The fun begins at 9 p.m.
There are several restaurants across the county hosting specials for New Year's Eve, including Annapolis' Cafe Normandie, Carrol's Creek Cafe, Luna Blu, Blackwall Hitch and Flamant.
