Officer S. Claus On The Job This Week For MDTA
Newly sworn-in Officer S. Claus will be helping collect new, unwrapped gifts as part of the MDTA's Toys for Tots initiative this week.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — There is a new officer on the beat for Maryland Transportation Authority and he goes by the name Officer S. Claus #1225. His sole job is to officially accept toys at toll facilities for the state's Toys for Tots initiative that starts Dec. 10 and runs through Dec. 12.
MDTA Police Chief Col. Jerry Jones swore in the agency’s newest officer. He'll be on duty along with other officers from 6 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. This is the 30th year that the MDTA Police have hosted Toys for Tots, collecting more than 152,000 toys and $120,000 from motorists.
The MDTA will collect new, unwrapped toys at the Baltimore Harbor and Fort McHenry tunnels (I-895, I-95), the Bay Bridge (US 50/301), the Francis Scott Key Bridge (I-695), the Gov. Harry W. Nice Memorial/Senator Thomas “Mac” Middleton Bridge (US 301), the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (US 40), the Intercounty Connector (MD 200) and the Dundalk Marine Terminal this week.
