New Construction Work Kicks Off Near Annapolis City Dock (patch.com) — Overnight construction has begun on Randall and Compromise streets near Annapolis City Dock, running Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for the next two weeks. Crews will inspect sewer lines without disrupting water or sewer service, but residents should expect detours, heed flaggers, and note that only emergency vehicles may pass through road closures.
   

2. Frustration Over Parking Unites Annapolis Residents and Business Owners (eyeonannapolis.net) — Parking frustrations across Annapolis have sparked a new coalition, the Annapolis Parking Alliance, uniting residents, businesses, seniors and workers to push for changes in city parking policies. The group is targeting high rates, confusing technology, residential spillover, and limited options for employees and seniors, and is gathering public input to present concrete proposals to the Mayor, City Council and transportation officials.
   

3. Quick 7-Eleven run delivers stunning $200K payday for Annapolis family (shorenewsnetwork.com) — An Annapolis small business owner turned a quick stop at the Forest Drive 7-Eleven into a $200,000 Maryland Lottery win, discovered with her husband in the car. The couple, who have two young daughters, plan to use the windfall to pay down their home and spend more time together, while the Annapolis store earns a $1,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
   

4. Maryland Tax Court Strikes Down First-In-The-Nation Digital Ad Tax, Orders Refunds (thebaynet.com) — Maryland's Tax Court in Annapolis has struck down the state's digital advertising tax in three major cases involving Apple, Google and Peacock, ordering refunds with interest. The court found the levy discriminated against digital ads and improperly relied on global revenue, potentially affecting funding streams for Maryland's education Blueprint as the state weighs whether to appeal.
