Rams Head Group, Owner Face Class Action Suit

A Laurel woman has reportedly filed a class action suit against the Rams Head group and the owner of the Rams Head Tavern in connection with peeping tom allegations that came to light in February.

Kyle Muehlhauser, 37, of Severna Park, was charged last month with six counts of peeping tom and six counts of visual surveillance with prurient intent in connection with a video camera that police say was recording women in the bathroom at the Rams Head Tavern he owns in Savage.

While police reported none of the six women was identifiable in the recording, a woman who said she visited the tavern a dozen times in the month before the camera was found is seeking $3 million in punitive damages, according to NBC Washington. She filed a class action suit against Muehlhauser and Rams Head, the news station reported, her attorney stating that she believes the”antidote for such abuse is to confront the victimizers and hold them accountable.”

The woman who filed the class-action suit lives in Laurel, works near the tavern and had visited the restaurant the day the camera was found, The Baltimore Sun reported.

Detectives responded to the tavern May 9, 2014, after a woman using the restroom said a video camera dropped next to her; after watching the footage on the memory card and taking a DNA sample from the camera, police said they identified Muehlhauser as the suspect.

The Rams Head executive said he was “embarrassed and humiliated” by the charges, adding: “...there will be a time to tell my story through the proper judicial channels,” according to The Baltimore Sun.

He reportedly plans to assume an administrative role within the company instead of being on-site at venues while he faces legal issues.

Muehlhauser is slated to appear in Howard County District Court on April 9 for the visual surveillance charges and April 23 for the peeping tom charges, court records indicate.
